Syracuse support meeting, Nov 28th (4th Wed each month)

CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW!  Will be rescheduled soon.

Syracuse, Meeting details below  [please check back about a day prior for any change in time/location!]— Welcome to our website and if you’re here because the system wanted to make you a lesser parent and it was a struggle to see your kids — we feel your pain &  we’re trying to do something about!   Below we have some info on our next meeting in Syracuse, what’s in the website, and planned local events.  Any questions you can email or just call 315-944-0999.

  1. Meeting at Nikos Restaurant, 135 E. Water St.,  Syracuse (directions),.    No reservations required and anyone is welcome to attend!    We’ll have some pizza and soft drinks.  Usually there is a short presentation (Judge, Lawyer, Law Guardian, Social Worker, Psychologist…) with an opportunity to ask them questions & raise issues.  No guest presentation is scheduled for right now…

We then discuss any planned efforts to increase awareness of the need for reform.  The formal part of the meeting lasts about an hour followed by some self-help.  A chance to share experiences and get some advice from folks who have already been through it.

  2. Local Plans – We’re trying to get action from our local Members of Congress in support of a Family Rights Act.   We’re arranging for groups of parents to drop off letters at their local offices.

Group Coordinator, John Murtari, has also been active in peaceful demonstrations outside the Federal Building.  Please check here for a YouTube video (a good soup-to-nuts summary of why we need Family Rights).

  3. Our Web Site – It had a recent makeover. Best way to get familiar is follow the top links from left to right.  We’ll be adding a general news section soon.  Your suggestions are welcome.
