Excerpt from email message from John to assigned counsel (11/20/09): Regarding the DA's request for a Psychiatric Evaluation I was really shocked by that. I certainly have no history of mental health issues. I held a SECRET clearance as an Air Force Pilot and have a substantial resume. I've done volunteer work at a homeless shelter in Syracuse and I'm currently a Lector at the Catholic Church in Lyons. http://www.AKidsRight.Org/resume_jm.htm (expanded) If they are looking for 'evaluations' -- the Psychiatrist assigned to the Wayne County Jail did one last November, I'm sure it is on file. The situation was much more severe -- and he found me perfectly sane. I also had two evaluations done in 2006 at the Onondaga County Jail, and they all pronounced me perfectly sane. All that should be available to them. If they want me to sign a release (and you think it's a good idea), I'll do that. Other than that I think they should have to prove any foundation for that type of request. There are many 'rights' efforts that turn violent as people seek to either release their frustrations or get media attention. I remember a GATT meeting in Seattle, where the protesters were breaking windows -- but then they apologized saying it was necessary to get media attention! I don't think any of them had their sanity questioned. I'm trying to defuse potential domestic violence situations by showing parents there is another way to make a powerful point. Voluntary self-sacrifice of your freedom (risk arrest) to show the depths of your belief. A film maker from California actually came with his crew to interview me in jail (in Syracuse) about my methods. I ended up a significant part in his film, http://SupportTheMovie.com/ They seem confused because I don't act like a criminal (want to get out of jail any way I can!) -- that is because I am not a criminal. http://www.AKidsRight.Org/events.htm |
