During today's Mother's day event at the Syracuse Federal Building -- John Murtari was arrested.

The goal of the effort was to get parent's to chalk "I LOVE YOU" to their kids on the ground outside the Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse.  John took the risk to emphasize the terrible injustices and pain caused by our current family law systems.  Building security took all his chalk away after he wrote "I LOVE YOU" on the ground.   A while later he was told to leave the property, he politely refused and was still holding a picture of parents & children.  He was arrested by Syracuse City Police, but fortunately just charged with simple trespass (a violation in NY), and given an appearance ticket for Court next month and released -- much to his relief.

There were two other mothers at the event, Katherine Neville and also her daughter.  They visited the staff offices for Senator Schumer and Gillibrand. We expect to have some more photographs soon, check twitter for a photo and some messages: http://twitter.com/akidsright

We do encourage you to call the local offices of U.S. Senator's Schumer (315-423-5471) and Gillibrand (315-448-0470)Let them know what happened and that you would like to see action on protecting Family Rights.

We'll send out an update as more details/photos become available.
