Good People & People of Faith,

This message (a bit delayed!) has info on:

1) Bill Coleman - maintained his innocence, released after years in jail!
2) EPP - Equal Parenting Party, building momentum in NY, nationwide?
3) Rally Results - Wisconsin,  NY, and DC (left-to-right, fair to really cloudy!).
4) Suicide - another parent puts self before all else.

1) Bill Coleman - maintained his innocence, released after years in jail!
We have sent out a few message on Bill in the past.  Hard to believe he spent over seven years of his life behind bars -- and then, when he had the chance to leave -- refused to agree to becoming a "registered sex offender".  He was not released and immediately charged with another crime!  He chose to maintain his innocence to all charges and stayed in jail for more than a year.   We are happy to announce that he was released last week and "deported" back to England.

There was a time when I (and probably many of you) didn't think this kind of stuff could happen in America, land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE.  It's a favorite technique in Court to make you agree to "anger management", "sex management", "parent improvement" courses ..... -- and of course, the first step in many of the programs is publicly admitting "I have a problem with....".   How many of YOU have done that -- even though you were innocent because it was "the thing to do", convenient....?

You can read Bill's story and news of release from his brother -> http://www.AKidsRight.Org/coleman.htm    I wrote to Bill several times when he was jailed (and also forgot about him for quite a while!).  He has two children and hopefully they will be able to have a joyful reunion in the future.  Their parent was BRAVE.

And YES, I don't know what "REALLY" happened, but I do know this:  None of this would have even gotten started if we recognized and protected fundamental Family Rights.

2) EPP - Equal Parenting Party, building momentum in NY, nationwide?
Perhaps you have seen some postings on this in the past.  I encourage you to check it out, pay attention, and join!  I've known Gregg Fischer for many years as an activist here in New York -- and he knows what he's doing and he is persistent.  He is being helped by many others and I know two of them as very consciousness parents for reform (Jack Frost and Katherine Golden -- both pictured at the top of this message).

To better cover the EPP, we've got a new area on the web site so you can get background information and learn how to get involved --> http://www.AKidsRight.Org/epp

3) Rally Results - Wisconsin,  NY, and DC (left-to-right, fair to really cloudy!).
We covered the Wisconsin State Capital Rally in a prior message, over 50 parents present and both print and TV coverage.  Hat's off to the folks in the heartland!

Last week we had the effort at the Syracuse Federal building with Capt America (Jack Frost).  The picture contains 75% of the turnout!

I hate to say this, but I"m glad I didn't get in a car and drive 8 hours to Washington DC for the "Fatherless Day" rally.  I got a description from someone who went, not many people (couple dozen) and no real planning -- an embarrassment...  It's quite true you can do the planning and people don't show up, but in this case -- there was no planning, just an announcement.....

The last effective Rally in DC, 2007.   Follow the link for a well planed event --> http://www.akidsright.org/dcrally2007/    At the time many of us thought the event would continue to grow.  It is extremely unfortunate that Rev. Ron Smith, who spent weeks of effort in contacting people and putting together a solid program, died of a heart attack the following year.  None of us made a similar effort, but hopefully that will change in the future!

4)  Suicide - another parent puts self before all else.
Another parent decided to kill themselves after being stressed out by "Family Court".  It happens, and it is such a waste and the very definition of the ultimate SELFISH act.   It makes absolutely sure they'll never have the chance of reuniting with their children & gives affirmation to the injustice of Family Court.

Why such strong language?  Because I sense there are those that use these "sick parents" as some type of martyr for the cause.  The very idea one of these "sick parents" might think publicity will help the cause before they "pull the trigger" is disturbing.

My deepest sympathy to those who have lost a parent or one of their children to this "sickness."  I've talked to parents whose children committed suicide.  During a lobbying effort in Albany, I got to know a parent who had an ugly scare right across his neck (he just didn't cut deep enough). It is a tragedy.

But please, don't blame Family Court, etc...... life is full of injustice.  We do not live in a 'computer program' where results are guaranteed.  Life can be full of joy and also great sorrow -- we do not know what the next day will bring....

Best regards!
                                     John Murtari
